Florida cactus

On a recent walk through the woods in our back yard I found this cactus. It's not the first time I've ever seen it, in fact there are plenty of them growing around here. I decided to take a few pictures to "Google" it and see what type of cactus it is so I could tell my Mom. She lives up in New Jersy and loves cacti of all types. As a girl growing up I remember her having many of them around the house and often trying to pick those nasty little thorns out of her fingers. The bigger ones are no big deal. You can see them and they are able to be pulled out without a hitch. It's those little tiny ones, that look almost like fur. You can barely see them and you get dozens of them in your skin. Try holding a magnifying glass in one hand and picking them out with tweezers in the other.
